Multi-Million Dollar Claim Relating to Miller Energy and Other Energy Investments Filed Today by Vernon Litigation Group and Attorney Kristian Kraszewski

NAPLES, Fla., March 22, 2017,/PRNewswire/ — The Law Firm of Vernon Litigation Group and Attorney Kristian P. Kraszewski have joined forces to file a multi-million FINRA arbitration claim today by a Revocable Trust against both Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. and Cetera Advisors, LLC. One of the Trustees is a 93-year-old veteran fighter pilot from World War II who currently suffers from Parkinson’s Disease as well as other health issues. The trustees relied on a financial advisor by the name of Abraham Heimann, who worked for both Oppenheimer and Cetera. A review of Heimann’s CRD reveals that he is no longer registered with FINRA as a financial advisor and he worked for 7 different brokerage firms over his career.

Oppenheimer currently has another investor claim against it for Heimann’s alleged suitability and trading violations while at Oppenheimer in which the investor alleges damages in excess of $800,000. Similarly, in the multi-million dollar claim filed today by Vernon Litigation and Kraszewski, the Claim asserts that the portfolio was traded without authorization even while the Trustee was hospitalized for extended periods. Vernon Litigation is now investigating similar concerns by other investors who worked with Heimann at Oppenheimer and Cetera.

In addition to the foregoing, the multi-million dollar Claim filed today asserts that the portfolio was consistently overconcentrated in the energy sector, including Miller Energy. Heimann effectively represented Miller Energy as a great investment opportunity, according to the Claim. Miller Energy has a troubled recent history, including a 2015 bankruptcy filing. The Claim asserts that the concentration of the portfolio in the energy sector was compounded by investments in Seadrill, FX Energy, and other energy investments.

Due to the egregiousness of the wrongdoing in this case, which has had a devastating impact on the Claimants who filed the FINRA Claim today, Vernon Litigation and Kraszewski are seeking punitive damages to punish the Respondents for what occurred.
